Classic ATS Resume Templates
Classic ATS resume templates follow the format recruiters have read for decades: name and contact details at the top, then experience in reverse-chronological order, education and skills. Familiar fonts and a single column make them a safe choice for conservative employers and for any applicant tracking system.

Why the traditional format still works
Reverse-chronological order puts your most recent and usually most relevant role first, which is exactly where both a recruiter and an ATS look. Standard headings such as Work Experience and Education map cleanly to the fields most systems use.
Where a classic layout fits best
Banking, government, law, healthcare administration and other conservative sectors tend to prefer a traditional document. A classic layout is also a good default when you apply through large corporate portals and do not know which system they use.
Which classic template to choose
The chronological ATS resume template is the standard format. For a more formal look, try the traditional ATS resume template or the classic professional ATS resume. The centered ATS resume template adds a traditional centered header.
